new version of firefox keeps freezing for minutes at a time every time I open it and my computer is new and IE works fine but hate IE

I have never had this problem before and it is happening on multiple computers. Firefox freezes for several minutes then unfreezes and works fine for awhile, then freezes again. Happening on two computers but not on other two only since 3.6 update. Please, help, as my brand new computer is doing this. It is not my ISP and does not happen on IE. Thanks!
