I don't want to go with any more clicking spam emails as spam BS.

I don't want any more junk email filters and all that crap.

I want a universal block, that deletes all incoming messages, from spammers and unknown senders, who are NOT already in my contact list.

You know I send some one an email and they are NOW in my contact list.

So they can reply.

But if they are NOT in my contact list, they are spammers.

I do not want to be forever clowning around with deleting the spam from scam artists.

If it's an unknown sender, I want them automatically blocked and deleted.

I am pushing this in gmail too, and now in Thunderbird.

Thanks in advance.

The general thrust of the matter is to implement the restricting of incoming emails, to ONLY those people who are on the contact list.

How to can we get this implemented?

Use a filter. Tools>Message Filters

See David, setting up filters is the problem. I don't need more filters and more settings etc. I need my contact list to be read, and all email addresses I send too, to become permitted senders to me. Every other sender who is NOT a known contact, gets blocked. This is it. Can you help set this up by reconfiguring Thunderbird to run like this?

Creating that filter to run first is the answer. Just having the entries in the addressbook is not enough.
