Checked older forums for this issue but when i tried the suggested solution and I could only get so far. I followed the instructions below:

1. Open Firefox and type in about:config in the Address Bar and hit Enter. 2. Type in enter handler.expose in the search box at the top of the list. 3. right click - New - Boolean 4. Enter the preference name network.protocol-handler.expose.magnet 5. Set its value to false 6. Click on the magnet link and you should see Firefox’s Launch Application Choose Dialog 7. Select your torrent client.

But could only get to Step 5....where it says in Step 6 to click on the magnet link the Firefox Launch Application was not coming up. Was a little unclear as to whether this meant to click on the new Boolean i just created or on the magnet link of what i was downloading but either way no luck.....please help!

Thanks heaps, Jenny

Hi,

Thank you for getting back so quickly.

Tried the process again and toggled to false but no luck - still no Launch Application to allow me to select torrent client.

What else can I try?

Cheers Jenny

I think you already have installed a torrent client. have you ?

just in case...can you check the network.protocol-handler.expose-all if you have it (it must be) TRUE (the default).

thanks

That are instructions for other platforms. On Windows the software that supports a protocol needs to register this protocol and you should see it in the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\magnet. If this key is missing then you need to reinstall that software and check again.
