Ok, then go ahead and Reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Type about:config into your address bar, press Enter Accept the warning. Search for browser.newtab.url Right click the result, click on Reset. Restart Firefox.

That worked ... now bookmarks do not show on left as fixed
