I am using Tor browser, which is based on Firefox. The 'About' tab says this: 14.5.6 (based on Mozilla Firefox 128.14.0esr)

When I sign in, it tells me that: "Some of Tor Browser's security features may offer less protection on your current operating system."

And it directs me to the following page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/linux-security-warning?as=u&utm_source=inproduct

-- which directs me to set up a file called 'firefox-local' with specific contents. I have created this file; and pasted the recommended contents into it, and saved it.

I am then directed to issue the following command: sudo systemctl restart apparmor.service

-- which I have done. But that returns the following error: Job for apparmor.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status apparmor.service" and "journalctl -xeu apparmor.service" for details.

systemctl status apparmor.service gives the following output: × apparmor.service - Load AppArmor profiles

I don't know how to make heads or tails of this. Apparently the profile failed to load. According to the file documentation, it expects firefox to be located in '/home/<USER>/bin/firefox/' but I am running a version through Snap. and I think it is installed in '/snap/firefox/6700/usr/lib/firefox/firefox'

Is that the trouble; and how do I fix it? Grateful for any assistance; sorry for the data dump.

This morning (08/28/25), I updated my browser to v142.0.1 (64-bit), and Facebook as well as other sites have been affected to the point that I can't even see contents now!!!!!!!

I (God forbid) opened the same sites in Edge, and there's no problem viewing them on Edge.

Is there a way that I can roll back this latest update, because I had no problems until this morning. I'm running a Win 10 Pro OS.

I was trying to register with a new website. Firefox suggested dG@5 as the securely generated password, which being only four characters is obviously insecure. Not surprisingly, it wasn't acceptable, as the website required at least eight characters. I tried deleting the password in both fields and trying again, but Firefox kept suggesting the same insecure password. Even after restarting the registration process I was offered the same password. I have used this feature many times previously, and have never had this happen before. Why has this happened? Is there anything that I can do to stop it happening again? Is there anyway that I can force Firefox to come up with a different password if I don't like its first suggestion? And, is Firefox's system really secure, if it does this?

Hi all,

Just updated to version 142.0.1. I now have the annoying behaviour back that video's on a website pop out on the screen while scrolling on a webpage and they are in the way of the text. I don't want any videos popping out. In the past I had it resolved somehow, so it looks like the update "undid" these. If I'm correct I might have changed a setting in the about:config.

I found multiple articles stating to uncheck "Enable PIP controls" in the setings, section [General] - [Browsing]. This options was moved to the [Firefox Labs] section within the setting. This option however is already disabled.

This page does not resolve the issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-picture-picture-firefox#w_why-dont-i-see-the-picture-in-picture-toggle

How can I prevent a video popping out on the screen an float above the web page? I just want to keep it in the window\frame where it belongs.

Link of a page where I have the issue: https://www.telegraaf.nl/video/oprichter-sbs-hiermee-onderscheidt-sbs-zich/86683036.html Also attached a screenshot.

Thanks in advance.
