Emails I delete disappear... I'd prefer they go to trash.

I have a POP account (Yahoo.) when I delete a message in Thunderbird, it disappears rather than going into the trash folder, but I'd like the option to restore an acciden… (hamaky bebe kokoa)

I have a POP account (Yahoo.) when I delete a message in Thunderbird, it disappears rather than going into the trash folder, but I'd like the option to restore an accidentally deleted email which is not now possible. If I revert to Yahoo Mail and delete an email in their format, it does go into the trash folder and can be restored. Is there a settng which will make restoring deleted emails in Thunderbird possible? (I started using Thunderbird when I was no longer able to switch my Yahoo mail to the "classic" format.)

In Thunderbird 128.8.1esr (32-bit) Danish language version, on Windows 10, when a list of past notifications pops up, I cannot close them. Whether I use "Turn off" individual notifications one by one, or "Turn all off", nothing happens, except the first time I try, I can see at the bottom left of the screen that communication takes place with the server. But the notification doesn't disappear. On following attempts, nothing happens at all, until I restart Thunderbird, then again I get a long list of notifications from the past that have never been turned off.

As for individual notifications popping up at the scheduled time, I can mostly, but not always, turn them off.

The calendars are no google servers. The problem started occurring 2-3 months ago.

What to do?

Hello Mozilla I have Windows 10 pro My last update of Thunderbird resulted in bad function, the former Installation worked not really fine. As I found out Windows showed me two Instances of thunderbird , the new one and an older 115.18.0 I tried to deinstall the old instance of thunderbird usind standard deinstall. This left me with some of the old thunderbird still in the sytem which I cannot deinstall. How can I get rid of these remainders to have a clean fresh installation of thunderbird?

My POP Thunderbird account is no downloading messages (Yahoo mail). This happened months ago and then started working again moths later. I figured Thunderbird had been fixed. But a few days ago it stopped again (the same day Yahoo Mail introduced a new format, but I don't know whether that's an issue). When I hit the icon to download messages, Thunderbird says the account is being processed. Sometimes it asks me if I want to download messages before going off line, but it still doesn't download (and I am Never off line). This applies to POP Thunderbird on three different computers. I need HELP

Search on Sent folder only working when troubleshoot mode

I am able to use quick search on all of my folders EXCEPT the Sent folder and it's sub folders. Example: When in the Inbox, I type part of someone's email and I see all … (hamaky bebe kokoa)

I am able to use quick search on all of my folders EXCEPT the Sent folder and it's sub folders.

Example: When in the Inbox, I type part of someone's email and I see all the emails with that as part of the email address. BUT, when I do this for the SENT folder and any of the sub folders and nothing comes up. Even folks that I email several times a day it does not find them

When I put Thunderbird into Troubleshoot mode, the quick search works.

Another issue is when doing a global search for all folders, I will see something in sent, but when I click on it, Thunderbird does not find the email. This happens with the SENT folder only.

I have tried a few solutions, including rebuilding the Global Database and making sure this folder is part of that.

what am I missing?

E-mail not working

When I click on anything in the body of the email, that box brings up little squares around it as I was going to change the box. When I click on it a box come on where I am supposed to choose a link. I have no idea what that means and I can never get to the information in the e-mail

I need to talk to a "REAL" person not a return e-mail. I have a new computer that Best By transferred my files from my old compute to this new computer Evidently in the process the Settings got messed up. My e-mail is useless and I'm missing information I need.

Problem with connection

I have an intriguing problem. I am using the latest version, currently 128.8.1 (automatic update), Windows 11 is also updated. Desktop computer, Ethernet connection, network speed 900mbps.

I use 10 accounts in the program, most of the time the program connects only to gmail accounts, and IMAP accounts from other providers are constantly being connected. Sometimes hours pass until a new message appears in the program (there is no message download, simply, the other accounts are as if without updates). Messages can be sent, but a network error message appears, informing that the message has been sent but not saved.

I know that the mail arrives because I use a different device, I only have the problem on this equipment.

Drivers are up to date, Thunderbird reinstalled, started in maintenance mode, database re-indexed. Nothing helps.

Any ideas? Thanks!

It is annoying as when I reply to a Newsgroup I instinctively hit reply rather than Followup. It also happens to be the first button in the list compounding the issue. Thankfully my default newsgroup email address is invalid so my reply doesn't go to the victims email account.

Some years ago I managed to remove this button, presumably with an Addon that no longer works. Are there any Addons that still work?

Due to issues with Thunderbird and starting in troubleshoot mode this has undone the removal of this button.

Can anyone give me a clue how I can remove this troublesome button?

Hi, I am using the latest version of Thunderbird, connected to three Gmail accounts (two are POP3, one is IMAP). I usually load up thunderbird once a week to backup all emails from Gmail. The problem is when I click the get new mail button it only downloads emails in batches of 14 or 20. I have to keep clicking the get new mail button to download all the weeks emails. I cannot find any setting to change this behaviour. I just want thunderbird to download all emails in one go. Is this a Gmail issue or thunderbird issue? Thanks in advance

Please apologize my errors, english is not my mothern language. So, my vocabulary may have some lack, and the terms i use to describe some menu's elements are not the one used on the english version.

Last friday, Win 10 update itself. Cause a lot of trouble. I've uninstall this update and all seem to be well again. With Thunderbird, the main problem was i was unable to send a message : smtp problem (which is not due to thunderbird nor from my mail provider, but from W10's update) But there still a problem with my beloved thunderbird : - the templates i use are inactives. When i double-click on them, nothing happen. Even with right-click, "new message from template" : nothing

The only way to use them is to right-clic > open > open in a new [tab/window] > copy and paste in a new message... Even "Modify as a new message" is not working except if i first open it in a new window (and then, when in this new window, CTRL+E).

Before that mess, i was running 128 ESR (up to date).

In desperation, i've done that : - Testing new install of 128 ESR with no uninstall of previous version : same problem - Testing new install of 136, with no uninstall : same problem - Done these both again with uninstall : same problem.

Restarting my computer each time, off course (some much time lost from this morning... ) That's feel me crazy !

I will be grateful to have some help.

Hello there, I'm using/testing Thunderbird for Android since few month now. I'm very happy with it, i come from BlueMail which is already great but I was not happy with the efficiency of the push notification system. I was missing a lot of emails. Anyway, i decided to try Thunderbird and it solved all my problems.

But, I have a blocking problem using Thunderbird for Android : When I write a new email and I write the adress mail of the recipient(s), the app doesnt propose any autocompletion/email adress based on emails i recieved/sent. The only way to have this is to have contacts in my adress book which I don't want. This is a feature BlueMail had so I uess it should be possible to have such equivalent with thunderbird ? Does anyone knows ?

Right-clicking Junk folder only stalls Thunderbird for several seconds

I noticed this morning that my Thunderbird tree no longer had a Junk folder. I restarted the program and Junk appeared, with stuff in it, but right-clicking the Junk folder no longer brings up the usual list of options, including Empty Junk. Instead, right-clicking seems to temporarily slow-down or 'hang' Thunderbird, a condition it does recover from in 10 seconds or so. I can open the Junk folder, select all messages and delete them, but something isn't right. Any ideas, anyone?

Update: Realized I didn't mention the version I was running, it was 133.0.3, under Windows 10, but when I opened Help to find this I was invited to do an update... so I did. When the 'update' was complete, I checked and am now running 128.6.0esr (64-bit). That seems strange. Oh, the same Junk problem persists under the 'new' version.

Update #2: Evidently the drop-down menu does eventually appear, if you just wait for it... anywhere from 5 seconds to 30 seconds or so. Normally the right-click is instantaneous. What could have happened, I wonder?

                                   I am experiencing a problem with Thunderbird (Version 128.8.1esr, 64-bit) in that I am unable to use it to send messages.  Regardless of the message length (whether long or short),  I consistently receive back the same error diagnostic, as shown in the image I have uploaded.
    Could you please help me with this issue?

N.B.: For the time being, I have no trouble whatsoever in receiving messages.
