how do I turn off perminently the startup request to make firefox my homepage
when i start firefox a popup appears asking if i want to make firefox my home page. its getting annoying. I'm happy with the homepage i've used for 30 years. I don't want to change

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I think you probably guessed from the above reply that your situation is not normal. I suspect you have a bad extension causing this problem.
