Firefox Relay

Has any body else found Firefox relay to be mostly useless? I put up with the annoyance for a few days and then had to get rid of it.

I did use it once to get past the id page for a purchase just to look at the freight cost. Too much, so the tab was closed straight away and the masked email did not leave my computer.

The problem is that signing up to new accounts or providing your email online is something that is done only very rarely compared to the number of times your email has to be used to login to an existing account but relay has to be in the way every time.

Just a hint to the developers, those accounts already have my email and they will never lose them. Also if I need to use my email to sign in, giving a mask email is not going to work very well.

Relay is a great idea if only it could determine the right time to get in the way.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback, though I don't fully understand you claim. Relay gives you a choice. If you don't need a mask right now, just... don't click the Relay icon? If you need to save your login or password, Firefox has that.

It is just one more complication cluttering up the screen. I click on it once to see if I could tell it to go away and took ages longer to finally log into the site I was trying to log into.

There is still the issue that it is on screen when it is totally pointless as I said. When I use my email to log in. Why not just have an icon you can click on when required?

Regarding Firefox and passwords, it is not that long ago that Firefox stored passwords in plain English or at least I could bring up a list of logins in plain English. That was very bad form and I am afraid that I have being using Bitwarden far too long to change now. I tried Bit Defenders Password Manager and found it was ridiculously complex and time consuming to use so I will be sticking with what is regarded as the best as I find it easy to use. I have been using computers for about 35 years but the time is long past I try new programs just for the fun of it. Now I just want it to work the way I want so I get tired of constant changes for no reason. I don't want unnecessary screen clutter.

I should also say that it was such a pain cluttering up the screen AND the ALT click menu that I just removed it. Maybe if it was less obtrusive I would keep it, but it is gone now. One thing I really hate is when new options mess up the ALT click menu order. This makes my work more difficult and slower. I really hate Windows new ALT click menu where for some insanely stupid reason suddenly they have decided to put some menu options in a line across the top instead of the list that has been in effect since my first version of Windows which could be counted on one hand even if you had lost 2 fingers.

This adding of new options is a constant complaint on forums so I am not alone.
