I recently updated my Firefox to v158 from v156, and now the text colors of some of the UI elements on a new tab (e.g. Firefox wordmark, web shortcuts, Recent Activity header) which were previously white, have been changed to black (or a color close to black).

I use a custom wallpaper for new tabs, which didn't alter these particular colors on v156. Switching the background in the Customize menu shows the white text on some of the default wallpapers and the dark text on others. I have attached example screenshots to show how these elements looked before and after the update. I used the Developer Tools console to do this.

I assume this has to do with the "modernized" Nova UI redesign (which I have disabled) Mozilla is now forcing on its userbase instead of making it optional. Reverting these properties via the Developer Tools console does not make them permanent. I would rather not have to change my current wallpaper if I can help it.

Is there any other way I can make the text white again without changing the background or downgrading? Or if I can make them permanent with the console?

So I'm helping sort out an individual who is very computer illiterate and I'm getting them to use Firefox.. but when it updates, the window that tells you what's new pops up... now this is helpful for most! but for this individual it really confuses them and they tend to call me about it every time... so I'm wondering if their is a way to disable the popup window, to make it less confusing for them without disabling the updates entirely?

1. Most of my stored passwords in Fire Fox "Passwords" do not work anymore. They do not fill in user name and passwords. They are correctly listed in Passwords and the user names and passwords are correct and can be seen and copied. Also the function "Search in Settings" is not working. I'm suddenly being asked for "primary password." I put in what I thought it was (from many years ago). Did not work. Unsuccessful at trying to change to a new one because Firefox keeps demanding my "primary" password. This started suddenly yesterday, 10/12/26. What is going on and how can I set a new primary password, or bypass that requirement. I never needed to enter any password before, and this is driving me crazy. Please reply email [redacted email from community support forum], or fix the program so it stops asking for a password and reverts to how it was before . I have been opening and closing my VPN(different website), but now it won't let me do it. I did what it said to get started and then it tells me to open in the open site. Where do I find the open side? I used to press the VPN shortcut in the upper right corner and it usually worked. Now it just asks me to "Try firefox VPN. I thought that is the one I was using. How do I get it going again.

Hi, After a Firefox update my tablet, running Windows 11, always freezes up - no mouse, keyboard, etc. - about 8 minutes after startup, and I have to perform a Windows reset. Currently writing this from an older Windows 10 tablet while the current one is resetting!

Hi there, I was wondering if we could get a setting to change the aesthetics of the tabs in our browser. Currently, we have a 'button'-type highlight for our current tab, but I was hoping we could manage our themes or preferences to actually have the tab visually 'connect' to the browser page itself.

It would help a lot with visibility, and I would greatly appreciate either the suggestion as an option or giving theme creators the option to tinker with the shape of tabs as a whole.

So each time this pos browser updates I have to comb through ALL of the setting to see what their stupid brains though was a good idea to change for me? What kind of dirty underhanded BS is this? Mozilla is going to CHANGE my settings, NOT only to AUTO FREAKING OPEN like no one will notice this, now I have to spend time seeing if someone hacked my system. Well turns out, it was permission given I am sure through BS EULA. How is this not against the law?
