Hi, I planned to block my users from installing extensions/add-ons. I found an article that might be the answer (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1308646). I tried to create a simple policy (below), but somehow it does not work (I can still install any add-on/extension). What is wrong with my script? I'm using Firefox ESR 78.11.0 (64-bit) by the way.

My "policies.json" looks like this:

{

"policies": {
  "ExtensionSettings": {
    "*": {
      "blocked_install_message": "Blocked!",
      "install_sources": ["https://addons.mozilla.org/"],
      "installation_mode": "blocked"
    }
  }
}

Sincerely, Jonathan

I recently updated to 107.0 (64-bit) by the usual Linux update. On Nov 26 2022 I used Google Translate. I just discovered these directories: 2022-11-26 22:07:20 /media/sf_G_DRIVE/f_files 2022-11-26 21:30:46 /media/sf_G_DRIVE/g_files The files in them are all rwxrwx--- I looked at the images and recognized the sources as being from the Russian Federation archive that I visited at those times via automatic Russian-English translation by Google Translate.

Does anyone have an explanation how these directories and files were created?

Thanks -- Mark.

Dear community,

User in our engineering dept would like to use Fiefox Developer Edition to develop custom applications. As an IT I need to check application regarding security and support levels. I already check your support options – community and commercial so I would like to send you some questions regarding data protection. Please enter yes or no.

1 The application must not automatically transfer any company proprietary data to external networks (like the Internet): 2 The application should not open listener ports on the client: 3 The application must work with the existing security settings, e.g. no changes in GPO-setting or Edge/Chrome-settings (e.g. they must work without changing ActiveX settings): 4 The application must not reduce the security level of the computer system (e.g. the application must not exchange DLL-s or other files with lower and unpatched versions): 5 The application must work without admin privileges:

Hello everyone,

Please test with all versions of Firefox. I was able to reproduce this consistently even after a complete reinstall or reset. For this case, ESR was checked and surprisingly it stays online even when offline mode is used upon start using profile manager. For this, you can create a new profile and start the browser in offline mode and search something in address bar. At first, you will be greeted with an offline mode message but if you hit refresh then the browser becomes online and the search results are now available. This is not just related to search results but any websites.

Hope you guys can provide some info as this is really unexpected behavior.

Thank you and looking forward to your suggestions

Test specs: Windows 7-10/Linux/Ubuntu Firefox version: ESR 102.5.0/Standard 107.0

Remember search and form history. This setting always resets to false after the latest two FireFox updates and I need to enable it again.

After logging out and back in the setting is disabled again. I've removed all plugins and extensions I've added and the issue persists.

I've tried Places Database : Verify Integrity but the issue persists on very Restart or loggin. In the past I've even removed FireFox with a 3rd party uninstaller to remove all remnants of FF but, as a very long term user of FF (right from the early Win XP days), this issue pops up from time to time and it's really starting to become extremely annoying.

Apart from Refreshing FF or the total nuke and reinstall option, what else can be done to stop this issue?

Thanks.

Hi, I am able to read a business mag on one Windows 10 Home system but on another which has Win 10 Pro , FF will not allow to STAY logged in to that magazine. I am using Windows 10 Home on the system that will not allow me to stay logged in. I have checked all settings I can think of. I have browsed all the Help Q&A here. I have chcked for all updates and confirm I am using the latest FF updates on both machines.

What could be in my settings that blocks me seeing my magazine?

Thank you. Adam

Hi,

I am currently working on a privacy study regarding Mozilla Firefox and I would like to have more detailed information on key log file using per-session secrets.

I used SSLKEYLOGFILE environment variable from underlying NSS library to get TLS session secrets [1], which can be used in Wireshark to decrypt HTTPS traffic. I looked at Firefox documentation for some answers and I found that NSS support for logging file is disabled by default since NSS 3.24 [2], that-is to say Firefox 48 and 49 [3]. I do not have found any documentation saying it has been re-enabled by default since then. However, I have made some tests on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (it is disabled on Debian) and Windows 10 using Firefox 106 (NSS 3.83) [4] and it works properly.

So, I have two questions : - Is it normal that this feature still works for decrypting traffic whereas it should be disabled by default ? - What is the position of Mozilla developers and the community on the security of this feature (anyone who have access to someone computer could get all of their internet passwords) ?

Thank you for your reading and I am looking forward to reading your answer.

Best regards

I really want to keep all my tabs and have this setting on but its disabled. I was configurating this pc via "privasy.sexy" scripts and my best guess is that "disable telemetry" setting which you can see on second screenshot is the cause. But maybe you are familiar with this situaton and know th real reason.

I know the sc i provided are in polish but above the disabled startup settings there is an information that another organisation is in charge of my browser.

Thanks for your work and let me know if there are any fxes. ^^

I've been getting a PopUp recently (upper right corner below bookmarks toolbar) titled "Sign in with Google" saying "Use your Google Account to Sign in to...". I've followed the instructions on the internet to access my Google account and turn off this security setting (Google Account sign-in prompts) and it still appears. This does not happen on other chromium browsers I regularly use.

Why does Firefox keep displaying this PopUp, and more importantly, how can I suppress this annoyance?

Thanks,

Everything I sign in to my account I I will get 4 different emails alerting me of the sign in and it always stresses me out thinking someone else mightve signed into my account at the same time time I did. I have 2 different email addresses associated with my account, the main on and the recovery one. So it makes sense why Im getting the "new sign-in" email twice but I dont understand why I'm getting it twice to both emails. All sign ins come from the same IP address but not mine (I use a VPN) but 2 will have a slighty different time (2-3 minutes) than the other 2. I also have 2 factor authentication set up with Microsoft authenticatior so is the double authentication what might be causing the double emails? I'm sorry if the way I worded this makes no sense but I'm super serious about security and Im tired of changing my password out of fear everytime I do new sign-in.
