Wondering if slow email delivery is a known issue on the desktop client. I know the issue is not server side because I'm receiving incoming messages immediately on my smartphone client. I'm using TypeApp on android but app and OS type are irrelevant. Comments appreciated.

It allows me to create the following pathway. I was forced to erase my PC because it was infected with malware. I saved my Tbird profile to my HDD before erasing. I pasted the saved profile to %Appdata% >Thunderbird, copying 1,777 items. When I brought up Tbird, I got the Account Setup window, so I don't think the profile was actually there. What did I do wrong?

I am trying to import a ics file into thunderbird. If I specify a local calendar as the destination calendar, the import works. However, if I specify a caldav-connected calendar as the destination, the import starts but never completes, and I always see an import status of 0%. I have tried importing into calendars from different caldav providers, but in all cases, the import fails. I would greatly appreciate your feedback. For me, this import is a convenient way to semi-automatically populate a web calendar.

I use Thunderbird 140.1.0esr, in Catalina 10.15.7 on a 2012 mac mini. Before 140.0esr, everything worked nicely. Since it updated to 140.0esr (I think), invoking Catalina from the Dock became a CPU hog, using over 100% cpu, (there were 2 Activity Monitor entries: Thunderbird and thunderbird, adding up to > 100%) and causing intrusive fan-noise from the mini's fan.

I thought invoking TB from the Dock was little more than running, from a Terminal:

/Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird &

However, I tried doing that (which I called "invoking TB manually" in the subject above. To my surprise, TB's CPU consumption dropped by about 90%, and the fan shut up. As far as I can see (at least, having sent test messages between various accounts), TB seems to look and work just fine when invoked manually.

My problem is that I'm baffled as to why "Dock" Thunderbird.app is so uncivilised compared to "manual" invocation of thunderbird.

Have been using 128.4.3esr since released and all good and found no reason to update. No changes to the system and my android operates as normal w/ comcast. In the last ~4 days seems email is delayed, but received, send works but seem slower and always upon exit get a TB dialog saying "Could not connect to servermail.comcast.net; the connection was refused". I used to know how to provide log info, etc, but getting old. Dell desktop win 10 64-bit 22h2.

Thunderbird causes blue screen in Windows 11. It's very obvious, since it doesn't happen if I don't open Thunderbird and problem normally occurs when I click on almost anything. It normally takes 2-4 reboots before running properly. It makes me nervous!

I am receiving a notification that states "The certificate for mail.morrisbb.net is not valid for that server. Someone could be trying to impersonate the server ". As a result I am not receiving any emails through Thunderbird, but I can go to the Morris Broadband website to colllect them. I have used Thunderbird for many years without a problem. I don't understand what that notification means. I don't even know what a certificate is! So, in short, I don't have a clue how to fix this issue. Can someone please give me a clue as I'm clueless. Also, I turned off my antivirus program (Malwarebytes) and that didn't help at all. I appreciate your help!

I have a folder created from a saved search. It shows all unread messages across all my folders. It's by far the folder I use the most often. I often scroll through it and sort the messages into other folders. But when I move a message, I often end-up with 2 copies: one stays in the original folder and a second appears in the folder I moved the message to. (I'm not using COPY, just MOVE). Any idea what's going on or how to fix it?

I am having an issue with email accounts on a certain domain being periodically blocked, with a time out error. If I open the website for that domain in a browser when this happens, I get a message: "Please wait while we verify your request". Once the website has opened, emails can be sent and received on the domain.

I can only assume that the browser verification, which I believe is BitNinja is blocking emails.

The website and email accounts are hosted by a shared hosting provider. I can access the accounts in Cpanel webmail - when they are blocked using Thunderbird, but it's a fag logging in to webmail to read emails and the interface is diabolical.

I'm accessing the emails via a standard UK domestic broadband connection so my IP address varies.

Is there a way of satisfying the verification process in Thunderbird? I have tried adjusting the timeout values without success.
