I've noticed an issue recently whereby the amount of memory does not reduce when tabs are closed. I need to restart my PC for this to occur.

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

You can possibly try the button on the about:memory page to free up memory.

You can check the Firefox Task Manager (about:performance) and about:memory pages.
