Firefox tries to upgrade but never finishes

I'm running 7.0.1 and Firefox detects an update but though the update bar loads, the upgrade never completes.

Hi bogdan.victoria,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article Update Firefox to the latest release. There is a lot of good information in there and some troubleshooting steps as well.

If that doesn't work, you might want to try installing a fresh copy of Firefox:

http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/

I would suggest that you first back up your personal information and bookmarks, just in case. You can find details in the article Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data.
