Chosen solution

atlaskhan0606, if you open the Windows Run dialogue box by pressing winkey+r, then entering: "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" then this should open File Explorer at the location where, by default, Firefox stores user profiles.

There should be at least one, and possibly several folders in this location. Hopefully your original profile folder will be one of these folders.

You can test each one in turn to see if one of them contains the missing data, by running Firefox with appropriate command line options.

Everything is gone. I was just using it this morning. Now everything is gone. Where is my bookmarks and cache etc? I upgraded this browser last week. No issues. Then today everything is gone at 7am AST. Where is my information?

My login credentials everything is gone.

atlaskhan0606, you can sometimes retrieve missing data by following the steps in this article. Hope it helps. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-user-data-missing-after-firefox-update

Thank you for responding.

I checked there and I do not see another profile. When Firefox shutdown this morning and open up it forced me to set up a profile before returning to the browser. I proceeded to set up a default profile. At no time did the system acknowledge the "before this" profile.

What else can I do?

Firefox literally ambush me on this one. I knew it was strange why it was asking me to set up a default profile. What happened? Why did it treat me this way?

The basic gist is that in the Windows Run dialogue box you will be running commands that look like: "[path to the Firefox executable]" -profile "[path to the profile folder"

I'd fully exit Firefox before testing each new folder. Remember to write the full path for both the exe and the current profile folder. A typical path for the Firefox executable is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe".

If one of these folders contains the original profile information then let me know, and we can try restoring this as the default profile within Firefox.
