tab groups
the tab groups page i was shown by firefox says i should be able to group my tabs starting at the latest yesterday but my tabs still just move out of the way and refuse to group. i found container groups but they work nothing like the page showed. i have firefox version 138 and the tab groups was starting to be roled out on 137

Tab Groups feature has shipped to 100% users as per yesterday. However, people who have telemetry turned off may not see it yet, but the team is going to fix this on a dot release planned for next week.Read this answer in context 👍 1

You can manually enable it in about:config by setting the value of browser.tabs.groups.enabled to true but I have no idea why it didn't enable automatically like the announcement said it should. Mine didn't auto-enable either.
I believe this feature was rolled out through a "study" (the hot patching system, see: About Studies). Possibly studies are disabled or blocked on your Firefox?
