What do you mean with the 'new tab bar' and what don't you like about it ?

Can you attach a screenshot?

You can enter Full Screen mode (F11) if you want to hide the toolbars.

Were you previously using userChrome.css ?

You can check if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in case the Refresh feature in Firefox has been used and a new profile has been created.

the new tab bar is above the address bar and I want either gone or moved onto the address bar. The tab bar takes up to much space. A screen shot does not include the address bar or tab bar.
