I have been using Firefox sync for a few months. Last night I had to format and re-install Firefox. When I try to add a new device the key it asks for is noting like the key I saved before formatting. It's 9 digits but what Firefox save as 'Firefox Sync Key.html' is a 31 digit key (counting the 5 dashes). I also have my name & password saved. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance, Chris

You can enter the account name (email address) and password and the Sync key.

  • Open "Tools > Options > Sync" or "Firefox > Set Up Sync"
  • Click "Set Up Firefox Sync" to go to "Firefox Sync Setup"
  • Click "I already have a Firefox Sync account" : Connect
  • Click "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom

But How Can I Get My All Saved Bookmarks???

I'm waiting the solution for the same problem... shit.

You need the Recovery Key (sometimes known as Sync Key) and to follow these instructions: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20sync%20Firefox%20settings%20between%20computers#w_what-if-im-not-near-my-first-computer
