There are quite a few reports of firefox f, often on 64 bit sytems but you are on a 32bit sytem. One consideation is is the computer generaly slow, and what are does your CPU usage look like.
All I can suggest is the general troubleshooting.
- see basic troubleshooting
- try in safe mode
- but do not make changes when you see the options in the first window, just click on continue
- use only the default theme see Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
- and if the above steps have not worked then additionally disable all plugins
If you have problems with saving images and using bookmarks you may have two separate problems or just a general problem
