i can never download software. I can save it in the downloads box, but can never open it!! WHY
when i try to download a program, i am asked if i want to save the file. When I press save a little downloads box pops up and i double click the download. Once it is finished downloading i cannot open the program or even find it saved on my computer. What is up?!

Downloads shouldn't just disappear. One possible explanation is your antivirus or antispyware software quarantining the download. But that should be rare.
Are you downloading to the Windows 7 Downloads folder? You can set your download destination (or always have a choice) using this dialog:
Tools > Options > General (Downloads section)
