the annoying add-on bar turns itself back on everytime I start firefox. this includes a both controlled restart and when it crashes...its very annoying having to turn it off everytime I use firefox because it's a waste of screenspace

A few users have reported that issue as being caused by one of their extensions.

I found the problem. It's the add-on "Reminder Fox" , at least that's what is causing it for me. To fix, go to Reminder Fox options and then

Display Placement: Toolbar: None

It's on the add-on bar by default which resets the add-on bar.

The problem, in my case, was cause by Zotero. Unfortunately, I will have to endure, since Zotero is crucial to me.
