Firefox 4 is not autofilling the login page for Hotmail.
This is a very strange error. Before, Firefox 3.6.* would put my e-mail directly into the page if I selected it from the drop-down when double-clicked. Now, I can't even double-click for my emails, it's like they aren't in the password manager anymore. And I checked, they are still in there.
This isn't really a big issue, since as long as the passwords are in the password manager, I can retrieve them even if I were to forget them or something...I just wish that this would work correctly. This problem is ONLY with Firefox 4 it seems, and ONLY with Hotmail. Every other site remembers things. I even tried replacing the profile for 4 with the profile for 3.6.16 I had saved, but that didn't work either ):

Many sites with sensitive information (such as banks, brokerages, forum , forex , hotels website etc) are coded to prevent saving login information. And some with not-so-sensitive information too, it seems. This is for your protection to prevent unauthorized access to your accounts by other people using the same computer. Don't know if Hotmail is such a site or not.
If you are willing to accept the risk of having this data saved, you SOMETIMES can get around this prohibition (depending on how it was coded on the original page - it must have used an "autocomplete=off" directive) via a bookmarklet which you activate while on the page, and before submitting your login data. If it works, FFox will pop up the usual "save this login data?" query when you log in.
Here's one good source of bookmarklets: http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/ http://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/ Go there and read up on bookmarklets, then click on the 'Form bookmarklets' link and drag the "Remember Password" one to your bookmark bar.
I just discovered that Hotmail uses Java at logon and I had to remove Javascript protection on logon.
How do I turn off Javascript protection? If you are talking about NoScript, I have live.com allowed, so what are you talking about?
