Firefox problems
I've been using Firefox for a long time, also DDG (DuckDuckGo) as my search and homepage. However, I've noticed lately that I am not able to save any setting for the browser? I've turned off the DDG one's I don't want, and a few others, and yet once I close the browser down and reopen later, he standard settings are back?? I do save settings and exit when I have made the changes I want in the settings on the Firefox browser, so why aren't they saving ?? GRrrrr

Are you deleting the DDG site settings and cookies when you exit?
Done all of the above many time, and each time I have to change the settings AGAIN!!! I'm about to change search engine back to one I dislike intensley...I'm over this having to be done over and over.
If you delete the site settings and cookies, of course you have to set them again.
Well of course you do...I do know that !! Thanks for the assist....
Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

None of the above have solved the issue at all. When I did the second one I tink it was, the browser showed me what I wanted - all the adverts for DDG had gone, but as soon as I closed the browser down again, they all came back. The same is still happening with all the other links you sent. Had enough, I've lost all my passwords, bookmarks - again - and the backup are not being put back either now. I'm giving this a big miss and as much as I dislike the MS browser, will start using that and will not be using DDG as my homepage either. Thanks for the assist, it did take me a fair amount of time to do what each of your links explained.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Macs: Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run
Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file.
