Downloads fail immediately

Whenever I try to download a file, it immediately fails and does the same when clicking retry. I have it set to ask me where to download files, and the place I always download to still has around 600 gb of space, so I know it's not a problem with available storage. This happened a couple days ago after my PC had an update. It had another update last night as well and I was hoping that would fix it but it didn't. I tried downloading the same file on Chrome just to be sure it's not my computer's problem, and sure enough, it worked there. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, and I can provide more details if needed.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.

After trying all of those, I'm still having the problem exactly the same as before
