I've got some add-ons. GisMeteo Toolbar is among them. I'm not use it, but it allows to use a button in the top-right corner of Firefox. So, I'm try to switch off the toolbar. Some time ago this works, but now the toolbar appears again after restart firefox. What's wrong? Is it toolbar problem or firefox problem?

Tools > Add-ons > .....

In a new tab, the add-on manager will open.

There, click on Extensions. You have to disable the required add-ons and then remove them.

Now close your browser.

Go to control panel.

Select uninstall a program.

From the list of programs, find the programs ( toolbars and add-ons ).

Now just to be sure, reboot your system.

This should work.

Maybe I will repeat a lot of what has been said in the 1st answer, but there may be additional points of importance. So, here we go:

In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:

  1. From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select Add-ons, or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the Tools menu and click Add-ons.
  2. Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the Extensions button on the left side of the window.
  3. You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
  4. To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the Remove button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
  5. Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the Restart now link in the message.

You can find further information about uninstalling extensions in the following articles:

If an extension places content (info) on the Add-ons bar then it is possible that the Add-ons bar will be displayed to make you aware of this. You will either have to move this data to another toolbar if possible or disable the extension(s) that cause this.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
