I've tried v19, then 18 and now v20 and they all crash. How do I stop this? I hate IE but at least it works for two solid minutes.

At first all I knew was my browser somehow entered full-screen (which I never knew it could do) AND it kept crashing. This was just after updating to "v19.whatever". The fullscreen bit seems to have been another symptom of this glitch, btw.

I came hear and so tried Firefox safemode, no dice. I tried scanning with MBAM and SAS. No joy. I disabled plugins- no change. I downgraded back to v18...still Nada. I upgraded to the v20-something beta...Still crashes. This really sucks. At least it's not just me by the looks of things.

Sometimes it crashes five times in two minutes, other times it might go an hour. Hopefully not until I post this...

Also, I'm using Win764 not Win8.

Well I'm glad and all to help you learn more about the problem, but I could hardly call that a "Chosen Solution" considering my browser is still crashing...

See:

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
