All of a sudden I cannot download e.g. a PDF or migrate to another section of a web site
Today I tried to download a PDF but failed. Clicking any of the download buttons in http://www.scribd.com/doc/90929175/ARte-Rupestre did not have any effect.
Also, in a certain web page of my bank account it is not possible to migrate to another section of the site: clicking the migration-button has no effect: a spinning wheel shows up which keeps on spinning without leading me to the relevant page
Both problems do not occur in Internet Explorer, but I prefer to work with Firefox

Update Adobe Reader to 11.0, then if that fails to work, Reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
The update to Adobe Reader to 11.0 solved the PDF-download-problem; but not the migtationproblem
Clear the cache: this did not solve the migration problem. Remove Cookies: I could not find the Cookies: "Show Cookies" in the Privacy tab
hardware acceleration: checked or unchecked: so no solution to the migration problem. extensions: I could not find any problem here: so no solution to the migration problem.
Migration problem unsolved.
Best to Reset Firefox??
Many thanks for your help.
Maarten
Did you try Safe mode?
Choose "Use custom settings for history":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
Go ahead and try resetting Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
