each time the Mozilla maintenance service is installed on my computer a temporary profile is created on the next start up, this doesn’t let me do anything and anything i do get done gets deleted as soon as the computer is shut down. This has happened many times and is resolve by as system restore from a backup. I have done chkdsk tests on my computer and all of that and the only thing that is any different between each time my computer has this problem is the Mozilla maintenance service 16.0.1. Please help me. I have disabled the automatic update for now but would really like the latest versions of everything so everything runs smoother.

What do you mean each time, once it is installed that's it, it just updates. I am not sure what a temporary profile is.

Your running 15.0.1 with a maintenance service 16.0.1, I would say your have corrupted the profile folder big time.

Go to Firefox menu "Help/Troubleshooting Information" and click reset to default state.

When it resets go to menu "Help/About Firefox" and tell it to check for updates. Firefox should update to 16.0.2 and that should solve it. SEE https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems
