why is the page not the size of the screen?

when I open Firefox whether in full screen or not the page only uses the center of the screen.I>E> always has a 5 inch border on both sides. The menu bars go accross the whole screen. Even using zoom doesn't cure this. very irritating if this cannot be fixed I will have no use for Firefox.

That is normal and because of the Resolution of your screen. When I visit that site I see the same thing. You can try to zoom into the page, which should help somewhat. Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

thank you all for the advice, but its just not worth the effort for me. I'll just use a different brouser.
