My desktop from my hard drive showed up in a tab window on Firefox - what's the deal!?

I've never had this happen before - Friday Aug. 7 2012 in the afternoon while I was on the Apple Apps store a new tab opened on its own and showed my entire desktop without the icons, but all accessible - I could open my files and read my personal word processing documents or look at any of my pictures. I brought my daughter in to see it also as I couldn't believe my eyes.

Then it happened once again later in the day, but this time I couldn't open the links to my files.

This second time I got just a flash of a message that said I needed to download Firefox security patches/updates and then that message disappeared. I did so.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

BTW self using openSUSE 12.1 linux with Firefox 15.0

Similar problem when for reason unknown my settings to open removable media changed so opens with my SWAT smb network applicaton which uses Firefox to display and edit details.

Changed my removable media settings back to Ask What To Do and it seems to work OK now.

Admit did learn NOT to react to flash and other messages about updating, and stick to using Firefox check updates, use regular update programs and regular terminal update codes

Hi tlrinutah,

Do a scan with your antivirus for malware.

Thanks! Makes me wonder how easy it may be for others to access people's entire desktops via Internet browsers . . .
