I can not successfully install Adobe Flashplayer 11.4 on FF 15 Trying to go Back to 11.2 and still get crashes on installation.

I can not successfully install Adobe Flash Player 11.4 on FF 15.

With each new release of FF, I have to go through this procedure.

When I try to go back to Adobe Flash Player 11.2 I still get still get crashes on installation. I get caught in a near infinite loop of the kind of error message displayed in the attached screen shots.

Task Bar -> Close does not work. Alt+F4 does not work. I must be missing something, because the only way I can to stop the install is by killing the process, or killing the entire process tree in Task manager. Not good.

How do I leave the Beta team and get back to work?

I am becoming quite desperate, but not enough to give up on FireFox.

I was advised to turn off the Hardware Acceleration, but I have to get flash working before I can try that.

This particular functional anomaly crashes Adobe Flash Player every time.

Sorry that you couldn't attach screen shots to your original question. However, you can attach them to a reply.

Are you closing Firefox before running the Adobe installer? That's probably a good idea to ensure that Firefox is not locking any files Adobe wants to replace.

You might also consider disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3-11.4, since that feature is currently being debugged. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?

The "Not Working" message occurs with version Adobe Flashplayer 11.4 and the earlier version 11.3 which was tried in an attempt to cure the problem. Both versions were installed as directed by Adobe. The problem only started after FF was up-dated to version 15

Where do you see this message?

I need to be more precise in my use of the written word. I believe you mean this:

Task Bar -> Close does not work. Alt+F4 does not work

I will make system responses in bold and keep my comments in italics

Task Bar -> Close does not work. Alt+F4 does not work

I sure hope that looks better after I press Enter.

This are the two pictures I captured.

Hi FoxPhoenix, by the way, I didn't mean that last comment for you, but for the other poster, eric109. Sorry for the confusion; this forum software doesn't "thread" the responses.

I've never seen a Flash updater crash dialog. As far as I know, that program runs completely outside of Firefox. Have you tried completely removing all versions of Flash and then reinstalling both the plugin version (for Firefox) and the ActiveX version (for IE)?

This article has a link to Adobe's uninstaller: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes

The "Not Working " message followed updates by Flash Player, Firefox and Windows. However following further research on the web, I applied the suggestion to turn off Trusteer Rapport. This allowed Flash Player to work but I am still unclear as to which application caused Trusteer to "malfunction". I hope the offending party will soon update their application.

I looked all over the internet and got help from an analogue friend of mine on the phone. He explained that adobes "installer" is actually a redirect to a site which will install it. This ruled out my being able to download FlashPlayer onto a disk or thumb and carrying it to my computer. He sent me to this offline loader (link below) ending three days of searching. On the right hand side find; "Download Adobe Flash Player 11.5 Offline Installers" Hope this helps folks!

Hi Charlie_Sam, Flash is now up to 11.6 so if you used that link, you also will need to run an update.

Adobe's "archive" page also has links to full installers, but they are huge ZIP files because they contain a combination of versions:
