Problem activating new tabs, closing old tabs & inability to use facebook navigation and search

cursor not working

cursor not working

Chosen solution

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

sorry for not getting back sooner. when I move the cursor/pointer to open new tab, close old tab, or open an inactive tab the cursor/pointer does not work and fails to change appearance -an arrow pointer, it remains inactive in Facebook search and navigation bar across the top of page. I am using firefox 11.0. cheers
