My computer got shut off in the middle of an update/upgrade and when I restarted I got a long error message, so I restored my computer back like 3 days, firefox just didn't open at all after that, no matter what way I try to open it. I have years worth of important bookmarks I can't lose, and I read that reinstalling doesn't fix anything, please help!

Hi,

If the data hasn't been corrupted due to disk corruption, you can try to take a backup of the needed files, reinstall Firefox and check. Hopefully the old data will be still there, otherwise you can use the backup to overwrite any files Firefox may have newly created. Your personal data are stored separately from the Firefox files. Please see backup. The bookmarks and history are stored in the places.sqlite. You can also take a backup of the most recent file in the bookmarks folder.
