After upgrading to Firefox 8, I click to run browser, a box opens stating "Checking compatibility of addons..." then opens 2 tabs.One "Getting started..." the other home page. How do I stop the compatibilty scan and the "Getting started" tab?

This actually started before I downloaded the update. I figured it to be a way to force one to download the update. After installing the update, I am still being forced to close the extra tab and cancel its scan for compatibility.
