The plugins list in the More system details list shows that you have the Shockwave Flash 10.3 r183 plugin, so Flash should be working.
You can verify that on the Adobe Flash test page.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
I know I have the current version of Flash - it still doesn't work. I started in Safe Mode and that didn't work either.
BTW, how do you have access to my More system details list?
This is one of the items that you see in the column to the right of your first post under System Details. You entered that data when you filled the form to post your question.
Doesn't it work as well on the Adobe test page?
It doesn't give me the option to test. Just shows the current version.
That is the test because the object on that page is a Flash player and you pass the test if it shows the correct Flash version. You can verify that via the right-click context menu of that Flash object.
The problem does not seem to be with Flash as it works okay with IE 8. The problem only occurs with Firefox.
Managing the Flash plugin
Check and tell if its working.
I have already done all the things listed in that file. Adobe tells me Flash is up to date and Mozilla tells me the plug-in is up to date. I have uninstalled and re-installed Flash and have updated Firefox. I can't follow the instructions about right clicking on a You Tube file as the only choices I get when I right click is 'Movie not loaded...' and 'About Adobe Flash...'
I think I have solved the problem, at least I can now view You Tube files. It seems the culprit was either Avast or Zone Alarm because I disabled and re-enabled both of them and now things work fine (at least for the time-being). Thanks for the help, it helped clarify the problem just by discussing it.
