Is it possible the browser is in full screen mode? The F11 key switches between full screen and normal modes.

Thanks, but that was not the issue as I had the mozilla firefox band on top with blank pages, no tabs, menus, help or anything. Close to a full page but not exactly. Unfortunately I did not grab an image before it was fixed. I seemed to run into a bunch of issues all at once and thought I had a virus. However, all seems to be running now.  :)

I am running windows 7. I had some issue with IE as well not letting me download and I was getting a blank screen on www.google.com in IE and not all pages were rendering. I also had a boot problem and was getting and NTLDR is missing. I did a few things that eventually fixed my issues. For the boot problem I restarted and hit F2 and then edited the boot order as it had it looking for an external file first. For IE I went to tools- security- custom and found that file download was disabled. I also enabled protected mode. (there also was an error message for an conflict with add-ons) However, all that seemed to cure my problem for IE.

Therefore, I was, I was finally able to download Firefox version 5 and it fixed the Firefox problem. In this process I also restored the computer to an earlier time but that alone did not help. Sorry the process was not better documented for those with a similar problem. Hopefully it will stay fixed.

I'm glad you got it fixed.

For future reference, the Windows System Restore feature usually doesn't help with Firefox issues because most Firefox settings are stored in a Mozilla folder which Windows doesn't store and can't roll back. But it can help with IE issues.
