Ever since updating to FF 4.0.1, a pop up appears every hour or so. "Want more options? Right-click the app". How do I get rid of it?

Further text from pop-up: "Yes, send me instant notifications from my apps." and "By clicking Finish, you agree to our End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy." Options are a button 'Finish' and a link 'Abort Installation'. I click abort installation, but it just comes back a short while later. I assume this is an extension or plug-in asking for installation, but it does not identify itself with a name. Whatever it is, I can't figure out how to get it to stop harassing me several times a day. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like adware of some sort or another. Download the free version of Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and run a full system scan to eliminate malware as the culprit.

You can start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
