You may be having a problem with some extension that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all extensions (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

I'm have the same issue, tried servers anti-spyware and can't delete it. Can't find a suggestion that works. This does not appear in IE just Firefox. Same OS same version as Fabien.

the message is connected with a nice theme for firefox (with a buddha on the top right corner): I've just changed the theme and magically the message disappeared!!!!
