Sudden onset of problem with outgoing TB messages

I have a hotmail dot co dot uk e-mail address. Use it and Thunderbird for years, all fine.

I'm on Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

Suddenly end January/ early Feb 2022 outgoing TB messages don't get sent.

Error says check server settings.

The Outlook server settings are fine 'cos it is sending outgoing no problem. But TB won't send.

What should the outgoing settings in TB be to work again with Outlook. Pls help.

I am not a tecchie person, I really need "cookbook" instructions.

Did a change to TB happen then or was it the MS update that caused the problem?

Did the Jan 22 MS update screw it up? (It broke video Skype permanently and deliberately)
