Is it possible to block the messages now popping up at the bottom of the Firefox search page? I am not interested in Firefox's politics and do not want to receive them. Thank you.

I assume you talk about the snippets on the Firefox Home page. You can set in "Options/Preferences -> Home" what content to show on this page.
