Customisable Keyboard Shortcuts

more options

I would really like to be able to Customise Keyboard Shortcuts on firefox. I thought firefox was meant to be customisable and this is such an obvious and simple feature which countless applications provide.

This feature is a necessity for the people who use software with conflicting shortcuts and can even fix issues as fundimental as personal preferance.

One example I can give is: Pressing spacebar when not in an input field scrolls the screen down a viewport. I can see how this might be usefull for some but for the majority of us who don't read long documents online or who prefer to scoll find it an annoying feature especially when hit accidentally. This issue seems trivial, yet there is no simple solution

I really hope this is a priority for mozilla to impliment, particularly due to the simplicity of the component.

You can disable many of the builtin Firefox shortcuts (like the space button) using the Shortkeys browser add-on. You just need to create a new keyboard shortcut and give it the behaviour Do nothing.

Hope this helps.
