Since Firefox updated to 67 recently, every time I open firefox, as well as my usual search tab (which is put second), I get a "congrats! Your using the latest version of Firefox" then all the usual rubbish about account for Firefox monitor, like I am going to click on that! Why am I getting this it is a pain in the rear.

Hi, Firefox is able to open multiple home pages with the URLs separated by a 'pipe' (|), so please see - How to set the home page, and in 'Home,' make sure that in addition to your home page URL, there isn't anything else - if there is, just delete it. (the Firefox start page is about:home but you may have set a different one). If it's easier, you can just click on Restore Defaults instead.
