What is "custom" after the Refresh that you would expect to look different?

What is it that you want to remove or change that you aren't able to remove or change?

HI JSCHER. I am new to linux ubuntu,so bear with me as i am a novice at this. Firefox worked fine until I downloaded (free manuals site) from the internet. The homepage changed with the (free manuals site ) in the question bar. Also lost the bookmark list next to the star. The homepage looks totally different. Any help would be appreciated. Thank in advance.

Here are some articles that might help:

(1) Home Page -- if you do not have the built-in Firefox home page or your own custom home page:

How to set the home page

(2) Default Search Engine -- if searches go to the wrong site:

Change your default search settings in Firefox

(3) Bookmarks Menu Button -- after a Refresh, you need to add it again, using either of these methods:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

Please also check for a rogue extension that may override your settings changes. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?
