Today I "refreshed" Firefox because it prompted me to in order to speed it up. Now i cannot find my book marks and cannot make Google my default browser. I really need someone to walk me through it. I need those bookmarks to pay my bills and I am really frustrated.

Mozilla doesn't have any official phone support, and support volunteers generally recommend against random dialing the numbers that might show up in search results. Too many scams out there.

Could you try this first:

(1) Turn on bars

You can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars
On Windows, tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar temporarily.
  • in Customize mode > Toolbars button (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)

To turn on the Bookmarks Toolbar, Menu Bar, or other bars, click it on the list.

(2) Add the optional Bookmarks Menu button

That's the optional new bookmarks menu button (). Either:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

If your bookmarks are not on those bars/menus, could you try the Restore feature? See:

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Any improvement?

Do not use anybody you search for on the internet. Do it locally.

If the bookmarks are not coming up, please look on the desk Top for a Folder called OldFirefoxProfile, is so can maybe get the info from there. Let us know.

Please look here for a 2nd Profile that may have been made but you are looking for the oldest dated folder to see if the bookmarks are in there :

Bookmarks are stored in a compressed java folder called :

  • bookmarks and history: places.sqlite

In the future always do this :
