I am at a loss with trying to figure out why Firefox refuses to play videos on certain websites. The only website that will play at all is Youtube. I have searched for days for some kind of fix to this problem and so far nothing seems to change. I have reinstalled Firefox a few times now and tried putting it in safe mode with no luck. deleting the add-ons also did nothing to help. Reinstalling flash and toggling the hardware acceleration also did nothing. I'm not sure what else i could do and have tried nearly any tip or trick that I have been able to find.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I have done that a few times since its been suggested a few times in other posts. Yes, the problem is still there after starting Firefox in Safe Mode.

Sorry, but what do you mean by public links

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for media related messages and messages about blocked content.

What i learned from going through the web console is that apparently I get this. " No decoders for requested formats: video/mp4" Pretty sure thats my problem
