For some reason lately, with the recent upgrade in my browser version, I keep on experiencing the entire browser flashing indefinitely and then i get a browser crash. It causes everything on my desktop (icons and all) to flash as well. Help!

hello, could you provide your latest few submitted crash reports? please enter about:crashes into the location bar, copy the latest few report ids from there starting with bp- & paste them here into a forum reply. this will give us a better understanding what may be triggering those crashes.

crash reason : EXCEPTION_BREAKPOINT this is associated to Video CardDrivers and Flash in this case it is Video Card drivers : 

adapterDescription: NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M

adapterDescription2: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 

driverDate: 10-23-2013

driverDate2: 9-16-2013

At one time there was monthly updates for these :

  1. 2 is chip on the Motherboard and should have been disabled in Bios

Try to get a update for it : https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

  1. 1 main card enter card name and OS into here or use auto detect : https://www.geforce.com/drivers

They must get updated drivers and at worst NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M replaced. This is the beginning. You have reached end of life almost for what these can handle with new code and HTML5 video and......

Ver 57 may be to much and it might be worth while thinking to move to the ESR Release if can not find new drivers.

52.5.0 ESR is secure. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
