Where are my bookmarks folders in the new version of Firefox?

Until this morning's automatic update to the new version of Firefox, I had several folders of bookmarks. Now all I have in "Bookmarks" is what appears to be fairly recent ones. Opening FF in safe mode changes nothing.

Is there anything I can do to recover them?

hi, in the firefox quantum default layout the combined library icon for bookmarks/history/downloads...) is replacing your bookmarks button that you're used to - when you go into customization mode, you can place the dedicated bookmarks button back onto the toolbar though that contains more than your recently bookmarked items ;-)
