I have the most recent version of firefox, yesterday i installed a security update advised by firefox, since installing this update i am no longer able to search google... my provider is virgin media, my homepage is set to google, when i try to search either on the page, the address bar or the search bar i get bounced to a page by my provider, screenshot attatched, this did not happen until i installed the security update and doesnt happen with any other browser or firefox mobile. i can visit direct urls i type but cannot use any search engines with firefox, therer seems to be a conflict between your security update and virgin media websafe filters, i have also advised my isp of this issue i hope it can be resolved as firefox is my main browser on all devices so use it to sync between them i am running windows 7 professional 32bit on the device i suffer the issue

What did this advice look like   ? You don't have Firefox set to automatically update   ?

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

. Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS

While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Anytime you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the website of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to https://www.mozilla.org {web link}

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery
