Add-on for form info retention?

Not sure of the correct terminology to use here. I post ads from time to time and usually just copy the data over from a doc file. This works fine. But I heard there are some programs that will remember the data and do it for you. This would save enormous amounts of time. So I tried Auto Form 1.2.4.1 but I don't think this is designed for this. Rather it seems to just retain one form as there seems to be no place to associate the form fields with a particular URL. There's no Help file of course. You have to be psychic to know how to use it, much like so many add-ons.

So we need something that will remember those fields when at a particular URL. Any recommendations?

And what is the different between a add-on, extension and app? Aren't they all just little programs that run inside Firefox?

Autofill {web link} Autofill is a small but powerful add-on that serves one purpose: fill form fields automatically on page load. It is for people who just want a straightforward form filler without all the bells and whistles. Autofill Support Site {web link}

This can work globally (for all sites) or per site.

I have to fill out forms quite often. Its for ads online. I have to delete old ones and repost them. So the data that is inputed to the form must match the URL. Can this program do that? If not, do you know of one that does? And is this even the correct term for what I need? I don't even know how to describe what I need.

I don't see how this add-on could work at all for me. I tried adding everything and opened a new tab but with a slightly different URL though it was the same layout. I clicked it to fill out all the fields and it did that but it wasn't the same URL. There seems to be no linking the URL with the information being used to fill the fields. So its kind of useless for my application. I can't understand what application it could be used for. It doesn't say how to save the data either. Its just a general save. Useless. Like most add-ons, its totally unintuitive. I'd love to meet the Einsteins that make most of these things. They truly live on a different planet with almost no sense of logic. Imagine buying a computer with a different OS and different layout with no instruction manual on how to run it. Same logic. Its like they forgot to teach people in software design school that maybe, just maybe, other people may not know as much as they do about their own product they've been working away at for months or years. Just maybe. Just maybe we need a few tips on how to run this thing.

General instruction; 1) Fill out the field(s) you want saved. 2) Right-click an empty area and select Autofill, then Add Rule. . Then Next, and Next again. 3) You then get the window below to check your entries.
