What is your answer to the "update Flash Player" problem?

more options

Sorry. I'm spending much of my time trouble shooting issues on all electronic devices. I am not a techie, though I'm a retired graphic designer. I do not need or want to update every device and 5 days, nor can I afford to. My issue is at the moment, the insistence to update Flash Player. I go through the steps, and all but one time have I ended up having the license agreement in Arabic. Since my Mac pro laptop I purchased 2 years ago, got a very virulent virus 6 months after purchase AND it took 3 months to rebuild, I am leery about proceeding with a download that suddenly switches languages on me. I deleted all downloads, rebooted started again. Checked the troubleshooting boards, read similar problems and none of the suggested solutions got me any farther along. I just updated Firefox, thinking that was the problem. And have just repeated all of the same issues trying to update Flash Player. (same issues arose with Safari)

Is there an actual Flash Player certified expert who can walk one through this nightmare. Or should I just forget about ever watching an online video again? (I am not going to design any more websites). Thanks,

I hate to pass the buck, but once you start up Adobe's installer, the process -- including the language -- is completely out of Mozilla's control.

Does it make any difference if you get the Flash .dmg file from this page: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Also, there may be installers that are actually malware vehicles rather than official Adobe products, so as always, please be circumspect about any messages coming from websites saying you need to update Flash and linking to unofficial sites.
