Every time I TWEET Firefox SAYS "UNRESPONSIVE" & FREEZES

Every time I TWEET Firefox SAYS "UNRESPONSIVE" & FREEZES

Chosen solution

I was using Twitter a couple of hours ago and forgot about the Tweet button I was avoiding using and when I clicked it Firefox did not freeze. I have tried it several times since then and all is fine. I have not updated anything since I posted above and am puzzled why it 'cleared'.

Thanks for your help on this and I hope your reply helps someone else.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Use this link to check that your plugins are up-to-date. If any are listed as unknown or research, do not worry about them.

Firefox unresponsive and seizes when I try to Tweet

This happened yesterday for the first time. I then have to use Task Manager to end the Firefox task. I checked to see if there was a later version of Firefox available and updated to Version 44.0 in the hope that would resolve the problem. It still continued to happen. I can Retweet, Like or Reply to another Tweet but not start a new Tweet using the Tweet button.

I restarted Firefox in Safe Mode and it is still frozen and unresponsive when I try to Tweet

All recognised plugins are up to date but the following unknowns are a mix :

Google Earth Plugin (v. 7.1.5.1557) - now updated Picasa (v. 3.0.0.0) now updated DjVu Plugin Viewer - now up to date Google Update - updated 02 Feb 2016

Windows Plug-ins should be updated automatically by Windows updates or should they: Windows Activation Technologies (v. 7.1.7600.16395) - updated Sept 2012 Windows Live™ Photo Gallery (v. 15.4.3538.513) - updated May 2011 As the last update is so long ago, are they still relevant

The OP has not replied to say if they resolved the same problem

I clicked Helpful reply but can't see Solved Problem. That's because I did not post the original question, I think.
